                 An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred Friday in New Zealand, north of the South Island, near the capital Wellington, an area that has experienced a net increase of earthquakes in recent weeks, five kilometers east of the town of Seddon in Cook Strait, at a depth of 10.6 kilometers, the U.S. Geological Survey said the institute, which triggered a tsunami warning.
